These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the website and services provided by Meteor 3, Inc. ("Meteor," "we," "us," or "our") at meteor.land (the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Services

Meteor offers manuscript development, publishing, and distribution services for authors. The specific scope, deliverables, timeline, and fees for your project will be outlined in a separate service agreement or statement of work signed by both parties.

These Terms apply to your general use of the website and any services you engage us for. In the event of a conflict between these Terms and a signed service agreement, the service agreement governs.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service or enter into a service agreement with Meteor. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement.

3. Intellectual Property

Your content: You retain full ownership of your original manuscript content, ideas, and creative materials. By sharing your content with us, you grant Meteor a limited license to use it solely for the purpose of delivering the services you've engaged us for.

Our work product: Edited manuscripts, formatted files, cover designs, and other deliverables created by Meteor for your project become your property upon receipt of full payment, as specified in your service agreement.

Meteor brand and website: All content on the Meteor website — including text, graphics, logos, and software — is the property of Meteor Publishing LLC and may not be reproduced without written permission.

4. Payments

Payment terms, amounts, and schedules are specified in your service agreement. General terms:

  • Invoices are due within the timeframe stated on the invoice
  • Late payments may result in paused work until the balance is settled
  • Refunds are handled per the terms of your individual service agreement

5. Royalties and Publishing

For authors published through Meteor's publishing services:

  • Royalty splits and payment schedules are defined in your publishing agreement
  • Royalties are paid on net receipts from Amazon KDP and other distribution channels
  • You are responsible for providing accurate tax information as required

6. Prohibited Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Submit content that infringes the intellectual property rights of any third party
  • Submit content that is defamatory, obscene, or otherwise unlawful
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
  • Use automated tools to scrape or harvest data from the website

7. Confidentiality

Both parties agree to treat as confidential any non-public information shared during the course of the engagement, including manuscript content, business information, and pricing. This obligation survives the termination of any service agreement.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Meteor does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any specific business outcomes (such as sales results) will be achieved.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Meteor's total liability to you for any claims arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will not exceed the total amount paid by you to Meteor in the three months preceding the claim. In no event will Meteor be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

10. Termination

Either party may terminate a service engagement in accordance with the terms of the applicable service agreement. Meteor reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to the website at any time for violation of these Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts located in California.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page with a revised date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
